Reporting to the Sr. Project Manager, Corporate Asset Management, is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of asset management strategies and frameworks, asset inspection/condition assessment, data analysis, assets performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting, deterioration pattern and lifecycle cost analysis, and Optimized Decision Making (ODM) to support rehabilitation and replacement planning for Regional assets.

Responsible for the interpretation, analysis, evaluation and implementation of development applications, and the preparation of reports with recommendations to Council, both individually and in support of the Transportation Engineer; providing the public, other Municipal departments and Regional and Provincial authorities, information on both general transportation matters and specific applications; attending various public meetings to provide information, make presentations, and receive input into transportation initiatives; implement goals and objective of Vaughan Vision. Review and coordinate special transportation planning projects and programs including the preparation of Terms of Reference; prepare engineering designs, plans and reports; review and recommend updates to City standards. Coordinate and oversee the work activities of assigned technical staff.

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Engineering, is responsible for the planning and implementation of capital projects as part of the 10-year Capital program, including project management services for, condition assessments, technical studies, technical and process support and review of design and construction of wastewater treatment facilities, sewage pumping stations and odour control facilities.

The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) is Vaughan’s new downtown in the making – an intense, dynamic community that will become the heart of the City – economically, culturally and physically. As the Development Engineering representative on the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) implementation Team, responsibility includes: undertaking, coordinating and facilitating the engineering review of land development and municipal servicing projects; assists and contributes to City engineering studies and design assignments related to City infrastructure projects in support and development of the VMC including master servicing plans and municipal infrastructure improvements; participates in development and cost sharing agreements and deliverables, project schedules and project costs; supporting the formation of strategic work plans and requests for proposals to complete the City’s infrastructure improvements necessary to support development in the VMC; liaise and coordinate with other agencies, Region, Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), York Region Transit (YRT), York Region Rapid Transit Commission (YRRTC), Toronto and Region Transit Authority (TRCA), City Departments and the public in order to facilitate the timely delivery of development approvals in the VMC consistent with the strategic goals and objectives of the City. -

The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) is Vaughan’s new downtown in the making – an intense, dynamic community that will become the heart of the City – economically, culturally and physically. The Development Engineer is the senior lead responsible for the review of either the Intensification or Greenfield Development applications. This role collaborates with the team on projects and provides expertise to development engineering work in their area of knowledge (either Intensification or Greenfield Developments). In addition the Development Engineer will directly review and coordinate some of the more complex, high priority files. The Development Engineer will seek to provide continuous improvement and greater efficiencies within the processes used on an ongoing basis and will assist the Manager to review subdivision, development and service agreements within established service delivery expectations.
