Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, is responsible for the coordination of activities relating to water and wastewater infrastructure construction or rehabilitation and asset management program; inspection of construction activities affecting Regional water and wastewater structures within Region’s easements, properties and road allowances; monitoring assigned construction projects and contractors; ensuring compliance of water and wastewater projects with the approved engineering drawings, codes, regulations, standards, specifications, and policies of the Region.

The Manager of Engineering and Operations will be responsible for the budgeting, co-ordination and administration of the county roads infrastructure, capital projects and the coordination of all pre-construction activities to ensure effective, efficient and on-time delivery of projects and services. Provide leadership, direction, coordination to all staff and ensure compliance with all legislative and municipal requirements. Conduct and participate in surveys, environmental assessments, public meetings, utility relocation and replacement, land purchases, consultation with local municipalities, conservation authorities and any other agencies as required.
The Manager will monitor public inquiries/concerns, provide technical support for the Road Operations department, be familiar with summer and winter operations to provide support to the Area Patrol Supervisors and employees on relevant operational road issues.

Accountable for planning and leading Corporate asset management and strategic capital planning initiatives for the City in collaboration with other Departments, ensuring asset management activities are consistent throughout the organization and aligned with the organizational strategic plan, including development of asset management policies and procedures, business plans and strategic objectives. Leading and planning integration of an asset management (AM) information system in support of asset performance analysis and decision making across various Portfolios that is consistent, sustainable and measurable. Provides leadership, inspiring enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to support staff to achieve high levels of performance.

As a Senior Engineer within Engineering & Construction Services' Linear Underground Infrastructure Section, you will provide project management for large multi-disciplined capital projects, using your project management expertise and leadership to support project delivery for the Trunk Sewers & Transmission Mains Unit. As a Senior Engineer, you will be specifically in charge of project delivery of large-diameter trunk sewers, large-diameter transmission mains, rehabilitation of trunk sewers, environmental assessments, analysis, condition assessment and other ancillary projects related to trunk sewers & transmission mains.

The Engineer in Training (EIT) reports to the Deputy Director / Manager of Engineering and/or designate, and provides special project support for the City’s Capital Works program administered by the department. The position will be responsible for providing technical support, design and project management of active transportation projects and initiatives including participation in transportation related Advisory Groups. The position will also assist with the design, tender preparation and project management relative to the installation and maintenance of new and existing infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, watermains, sewers and stormwater management assets.
