Reporting to the Manager, Construction, this position is responsible for leading a team of inspectors and consultants undertaking the coordination and administration of construction activities related to the department’s annual Capital Works Program. Coordinates construction activities thru the various phases of construction; supervises technical staff; provides technical expertise; oversees consultants; investigates improved methods; and develops plans and strategies to protect the City’s interests. Provides advice, guidance and leadership to construction inspection staff and consultants for contract construction matters.

The County of Bruce is currently seeking qualified applicants for the Full Time position of Engineering Manager in the Transportation & Environmental Services Department. Reporting to the Director, the Engineering Manager is responsible for the oversight of the County’s transportation infrastructure including the evaluation, planning, budgeting and construction of capital assets. The incumbent also undertakes special studies, management and review of utilities, review of development applications and oversight of Department permit processes. The Manager leads and coaches staff and engages internal and external stakeholders. This position is located in Walkerton, Ontario.

The Manager, Realty Construction Projects, is responsible for providing leadership to the Construction Projects Team in developing an overall project management framework and program that supports corporate and department goals and objectives while meeting community needs.
The Manager, Realty Construction Projects, supervises the project management of a variety of complex, facilities related projects. This position supports strategic planning, budget development, work planning, human resources, staff development and change management and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to build working relationships that are mutually beneficial.

Coordinates the division's review, comments and input from across Toronto Water on special projects, Environmental Assessment Studies, Secondary Plans, Avenue Studies and other planning studies and initiatives led by other divisions and agencies
Provides technical advice and expertise to support other units within Toronto Water
Conducts technical problem investigations and participates in conducting studies, analysis, surveys, research and development for effective resolution of complex engineering problems, ensuring that such analysis takes into account developments within the field, corporate policies and practices, legislation and initiatives by other levels of government
Assists in developing policies and programs, technical design guidelines and requirements and by-laws related to stormwater management, water resources and environmental protection, water distribution and wastewater collection
Prepares construction cost estimates that reflect current costs and trends
Prepares Terms of Reference for consultant assignments and agreement contracts with consultants, reviews and comments on consultant proposals and recommends approval of their plans
Determines resource requirements for each assignment, and reviews budget estimates in light of the requirements
Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of pilot projects and new technologies and contributes to policy formulation with respect to water and wastewater systems and stormwater management
Provides necessary engineering expertise for the preparation and review of reports, maintenance and monitoring of plans, and analysis of data to ensure environmental goals and objectives are adequately addressed
Administers the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC)’s Transfer of Review Program for the City of Toronto through the review of designs of proposed sewers, stormwater management designs to ensure that they are in accordance with the MOECC's Guidelines
Administers the City's review and approval of watermain designs under the Drinking Water Permit Licence Program
Prepares Committee and Council reports and presentations to senior staff, elected officials and the public
Maintains relations with councillors, the public, consultants, government agencies, developers, suppliers and contractors relative to the design and development of Toronto Water policies and programs, and formulates sound recommendations to senior staff regarding same.

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the Engineering Technologist is responsible for project managing (including contract administration and inspection) the design and construction of road, bridge, sidewalk, water, wastewater, and stormwater projects while ensuring such projects meet technical, financial and scheduling requirements. In addition, the Engineering Technologist is responsible to investigate traffic concerns and provide technical guidance to resolving those concerns.
