MEA WILL OFFER ANOTHER OPS 201 COURSE IN THE SPRING OF 2025

The MEA is offering a OPS 201 course (webinar) about Ontario Provincial Standards (OPS).  It will be delivered in 2 modules over 2 days at approximately 3-hours per day.  This course/weibnar represents 6 CPD/CEU hours.  This course is a more in depth version of the MEA's OPS 101 course/webiner.

This course provides training on utilizing the OPS in building a framework for the successful planning, delivery, inspection, and closeout of linear infrastructure construction projects.

Group activities and scenarios will be used in the course to explain the process for measuring and managing progress payments following the Construction Act’s Prompt Payment concept and the OPS Specs and Drawings, as well as the use of OPSS.PROV.127 in managing Times & Materials. Examples and Scenarios will be presented in the course to explore how the OPSS.MUNI.100 General Conditions of Contract can be used as a tool in managing the contract administration, dealing with claims and disputes, and closing the contract and releasing holdbacks.

Who Should Attend?

Individuals (employed by public or private sectors) who have a working knowledge with OPS and involved in construction project delivery and contract documents preparation of linear infrastructure projects at municipal or provincial level. Attendees will learn how to use OPS in setting up a framework for successful project delivery.

 

About the Instructor:

Arup Mukherjee is a Professional Engineer with 30 years experience in Municipal Engineering.  He recently retired as Director of Public Works for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in Eastern Ontario. Prior to that, he worked for both local and regional governments in Toronto, Markham, York Region and Bradford. He is a member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and Municipal Engineers Association (MEA). He is also the Chair of the Ottawa Valley Branch for the Ontario Public Works Association (OPWA).
