Reporting to the Program Manager, Water Conservation & Efficiency, is responsible for the planning and implementing of energy optimization projects, supporting upgrades to existing physical and business systems; assisting in the development and management of other system sustainability and asset management programs; working with other Department staff to develop required process scenarios, process efficiency modifications and other related strategies; and providing support to Department staff related to physical and business processes in the creation/acquisition, operation, maintenance and management of infrastructure.

Leads the development of the City’s 10-Year Infrastructure Capital Program as informed by current infrastructure Master Plans in support of the City’s growth management strategy and Official Plan. Liaises with City Departments to develop the 10-Year Program to ensure alignment of priorities, highlights limitations in resources to deliver Program elements, and coordinates the delivery of these elements. Assists in developing new policies and programs to support the City’s Corporate Asset Management Plan and related initiatives.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Development Construction is responsible for inspecting, coordinating and providing technical expertise on construction projects affecting the function of Regional roads from planning and pre-construction to final acceptance of work undertaken by area municipalities, owners, developers and contractors in accordance with approved engineering drawings, specifications, standards, contracts, by-laws, agreements and Regional policies.

Reporting to the Manager of Transportation Operations, you’ll provide leadership to subordinate staff within a multi-functional workforce engaged in the delivery and direction of traffic operations services to the public, internal clients and external customers, while recommending service delivery improvement strategies to meet mandated goals and objectives.
As Superintendent, Traffic Operations, you’ll be accountable for ensuring that traffic and roadway safety initiatives are delivered in accordance with City and Provincial guidelines, and that departmental goals and objectives are achieved through the effective and efficient use of financial and staff resources. This will see you leading by example in carrying out various technical and research duties, including the evaluation, planning, design and monitoring of traffic devices and roadway safety infrastructure.
