    Under the direct supervision of the General Manager, is responsible for the development and continual improvement of a corporate wide asset management program and for the management of strategic departmental projects and initiatives. Key responsibilities include preparing, evaluating, implementing, and managing proposals, projects and master plans; community consultation, managing project capital budgets; communicating project updates; negotiating and ensuring compliance with project goals, direction and funding; and for ensuring compliance with all applicable provincial and federal legislation and municipal by-laws and policies.

    This position is responsible for leading major facility and building construction projects from preliminary design stage through to completion of construction, including assignments through consultation with other city departments, local boards, outside agencies and the public. Researches, develops and implements procedures, processes and policies relevant to project management, oversees external contracts as well as prepares and monitors capital budgets and forecasts. Projects include new construction, life cycle renewal and revitalization requiring project management expertise.
