    These two (2) contract positions (ending March 31, 2020) will provide the lead support to the Yonge Subway Extension (YSE) project team, on behalf of the City of Vaughan. One position will reside within the Infrastructure Planning and Corporate Asset Management Department, focusing on engineering and infrastructure related matters. The second position will reside within the Development Planning Department, with a focus on planning and urban design.

    As a Project Manager, Water/Wastewater Planning, you’ll lead projects related to wastewater infrastructure planning, with a focus on identifying infrastructure improvements required to address existing system deficiencies, to improve system operations or, as necessary, to accommodate future growth. In all cases, you’ll ensure adherence to the City’s project management and procurement policies and procedures, and/or industry-standard project management principles and best practices.

    Leading consultant assignments and acting as the City’s primary project contact, you’ll work with teams of internal and external stakeholders – ensuring that they are kept informed of project progress and that their interests are being addressed. In some cases, you’ll be required to communicate with City officials regarding projects and to prepare project-related Council Reports, presentations and/or status reports.

    Based on your interpretation of engineering drawings, planning reports and other technical documents, you will also provide analysis on wastewater system capacity through the creation of computer spreadsheets or the use of the City’s hydraulic computer model(s).

    Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure Delivery Services, the Manager, Design & Construction will provide sectional leadership and guidance in the coordination and management of specialized municipal infrastructure and capital works projects. You will implement and promote the City's strategic plan and foster a culture of innovation, engagement, collaboration and respect, and work in partnership with other division Managers to support the delivery of Capital projects.
