With a focus on residential, industrial, commercial and institutional service connection installations, requiring a high level of proficiency in estimating, observing, inspecting, and reporting on installation of storm, sanitary and water services. Administers the construction provisions of service connection contracts. Prepares quotes, reviews, tracks and inspects Service Connection installation practices in the field and prepares and maintains a database and takes corrective action for any deficiencies.

    The General Manager, Water Services will be responsible for all activities related to Water Services management and will make significant decisions on the operation and strategic direction of the Water Services Department, as well as that of the organization as a member of the senior executive team. These decisions will directly impact and influence planning, building and supporting Water Services for now and for the future. You will be accountable for the function’s overall budget and for delivering on the objectives of the Board’s strategic plan. You will provide advice and recommendations to the Metro Vancouver Board, standing committees, the CAO and the senior management team and senior staff. You will also hire, lead, mentor staff and guide a Water Services department team of several hundred staff.

    • Responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the Utilities Division, for the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems. Management and supervision of all utilities’ personnel, hired equipment suppliers, consulting engineers and contractors engaged in the operation, maintenance and improvement of the Township Utilities Division. • Responsible to develop and manage the operating and capital budgets for all operating expenses and infrastructure assets within the Utilities Division. • Responsible to plan, coordinate, direct and monitor a multidisciplinary team of staff to ensure that water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collection facilities and networks operate at the highest level of efficiency, while maintaining quality, current demand, and environmental goals, and that full compliance with all federal and provincial laws, bylaws, and resolutions of Township Council are met. • The Manager will build relationships, resolve conflicts, and promote collaboration, internally and externally, to Water and Wastewater Operations. • The position requires both indoor and outdoor work, as well as additional work outside of regular office hours for attendance at Council and public meetings, as required, and to respond to operational situations.

    Under the guidance and direction of the Director, the Business Analyst is responsible for performing policy and business process analysis, including process mapping & information flows in the Development Engineering Department. This includes analyzing performance measurement information and identifying ways to ensure an effective use of information in the decision-making ang business planning process to meet the Department's strategic objectives. Responsible for monitoring, tracking, collecting and curating data from multiple sources to perform precise and valuable analysis and draft reports and presentations with recommendations that identify improvement opportunities and/or support decision making. Overall, this position plays an integral role in transforming the Corporation’s business process and enhancing customer service delivery.
