    The Infrastructure Technologist is responsible for developing and maintaining the Town’s civil based (road, water, sewer, storm water, etc.) infrastructure datasets and provides direct support to all Branches of the Department. Reporting to the Asset Management and Capital Projects Manager in the Community Infrastructure and Environmental Services Department, this position works closely with the Manager to implement asset management principles and best practices that are used to maintain the currency and integrity of civil based infrastructure data that is consumed by various multidisciplinary software applications and business processes throughout the Town.

  • Reporting to the Manager of Asset Management and Capital Projects, the Senior Traffic & Transportation Technologist is responsible for overseeing and analyzing the Towns transportation network from planning and design through to monitoring and troubleshooting the existing network. The Senior Traffic & Transportation Technologist will deliver effective traffic and transportation projects and programs, provide transportation comments on development applications and traffic studies, administer and oversee the Town’s Crossing Guard Program, maintain the Town’s Traffic By-law(s), assess traffic controls and complete warrant analysis, plan and conduct traffic studies, perform field investigations, acquire, compile, manage and analyze traffic and transportation data, prepare plans and reports, review and comment on traffic and transportation issues at all stages of capital and development projects, preparation of related contract documents and managing consultant work, authoring various technical and Council reports, attending, participating and presenting traffic and transportation issues at Committees of Council, the public, professional organizations and representing the Town through various external committees in liaison.

    If you are a professional engineer with extensive experience examining plans and specifications for compliance, considering applying your design and construction knowledge as a subject matter expert with the City of Toronto’s Toronto Building Division.

    Reporting to the Manager, Plan Review, you will examine architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical plans and specifications for projects submitted by applicants for building and demolition permits. Checking for compliance with Ontario Building Code requirements, other By-Laws and standards, and the structural adequacy to carry out duties, you will work in accordance with the Professional Engineers Ontario Code of Ethics and the Professional Engineers Act.

    Reports to and under the general supervision of the Division Manager II, Geomatics, supports civil engineering undertakings relating to municipal roadways, sewers, water supply, and subdivision and development.The focus of this Technologist I position is to support the City’s Engineering Plan File record system and maintain the City’s Sewer GIS system utilizing ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Technology.

  • Reporting to the Division Manager of Sewer Operations, the Environmental Services Engineer – Sewer Systems Operations supervises staff, and conducts planning, designing, project administration, and asset management with recommendations to optimize existing operational functions with respect to the City of London’s storm/sanitary sewer collection system, stormwater management facilities (SWMF) and emergency spills response service. In addition, the Engineer develops, implements, and promotes new technologies achieving efficient and effective operations to ensure design functionality and long-term infrastructure sustainability.
