    Reporting to the Division Manager of Water Engineering, this employee is responsible for the design, delivery and coordination of the City of London’s Efficient Use of Water Program and the Municipal Drinking Water Awareness Plan. Included in these duties are the management and development of the water meter reading agreement with London Hydro, water rate structure development, Source Water Protection initiatives, tasks outlined in federal and provincial legislation (i.e. Green Energy Act), water by-law updates as it relates to “green” technologies, as well as website and customer communication. The incumbent will work in a team environment alongside other environmental specialists in the formulation of short and long term water demand and conservation work plans, budgets, policy analysis and development, and related business plans and initiatives.  The incumbent will be supported by temporary, technical, and operational staff to deliver the programs. The incumbent will provide water conservation expertise on City projects, as required, in conjunction with other City Project/Program Managers.

    Your expertise as a civil engineer and in project management will be well applied and valued in this key role on our Engineering Services team in Hamilton, ON.

    As a Design Project Manager, you will be accountable to the Senior Project Manager (Design Services) and ensure that Design projects are delivered according to City of Hamilton and provincial standards, and in compliance with legislative requirements. You will provide detailed design services and tendering for bridges, culverts, road, water and wastewater infrastructure, and obtain any project approvals or permits required as you co-ordinate the acquisition of property or easements and utility works.

    Reporting to the Manager, Design and Construction, the Project Leader – Capital Projects is responsible for administering and managing assigned projects from initiation to construction completion which involves: public meetings, environmental assessments, design and construction for any combination of transportation, water resources (storm waters, creeks and shorelines) and municipal infrastructure projects. The incumbent will also provide technical guidance to other Departments across the Corporation.
