In this permanent position as a Senior Project Manager in Water & Wastewater Planning, you will provide leadership to subordinate staff within a Business Unit, facilitating a team environment focused on providing operation/optimization of existing systems support, long-range planning and engineering expertise for the City Stormwater / Watersheds /Sanitary /Combined systems. Your extensive knowledge of municipal wastewater infrastructure planning and engineering will enable you to ensure that infrastructure systems design activities are delivered in a cost-effective, efficient and timely manner within a Quality Management System (QMS) environment.

As a Senior Project Manager, Water & Wastewater Planning in either of these two temporary, full-time positions of up to 24 months, you will provide leadership to a diverse project team focused on updating the Citywide Water/Wastewater/Stormwater Master Plans by applying expertise in Drinking Water/Stormwater/Watershed/Sanitary/Combined systems. You will call upon your extensive knowledge of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure planning and engineering, as well as apply Project Management methodologies (i.e., PMI), in order to ensure that infrastructure systems design activities are delivered in a cost-effective, efficient and timely manner in a Quality Management System (QMS) environment.

Reports to and acts under the direction and approval of the Division Manager III. Prepares draft plan approval conditions for land development projects. Reviews, analyzes and/or recommends acceptance of municipal servicing design drawings and various engineering reports and studies. Reviews applications under provincial legislation as part of the Transfer of Review Program. Reviews, monitors security and ensures compliance of Subdivision, Servicing and Reference Plan Agreements. Responsible for office and field duties related to engineering servicing of subdivision and land development.

Reporting to the Manager, Construction, you will provide leadership to subordinate staff in a multi-disciplinary team environment that encompasses responsibility for development and capital infrastructure projects required to facilitate the City’s growth management plan. As Senior Project Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring that infrastructure is constructed in accordance with City and Provincial guidelines, and with minimal disruption to the public.

To coordinate the review, evaluation and response to development applications, Committee of Adjustment applications, and proposals for permanent road closings from a traffic planning perspective. To represent the Division at committees of Council, public meetings and other meetings and the Ontario Municipal Board to achieve City and Divisional policy objectives.
