Reports to the Director, Roads and Transportation. Manages all phases of Rapid Transit development and implementation including direct oversight of numerous complementary projects. Provides operational leadership and project direction regarding design, environmental assessment, realty, procurement, engineering, construction, and financing; develops, implements and monitors the capital works program required for the integration of new and existing transit infrastructure; develops and implements the programs, policies, and procedures necessary to ensure legal and municipal compliance; and conducts assessments to ensure that the Rapid Transit project meets the objectives and long-term requirements of the City of London.

Reports to the Rapid Transit Project Director. Provides project management expertise in design and construction of Rapid Transit with responsibility for planning, coordinating, and controlling related engineering operations.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Works Operations, this position is responsible to oversee and coordinate the maintenance of all City assets within the right of way to ensure vehicular and pedestrian safety while ensuring compliance to all related legislation. This includes inspecting work sites as well as investigating and resolving public enquiries.

What can I expect to do in this role?
Provide specialized civil engineering, water resources management and project management services in support of the inspection maintenance, rehabilitation, construction and decommissioning of Crown owned dams/fishways, roads and bridges;
Provide expertise, advice and recommendations with respect to interpretation and applications under different legislative authorities, compliance monitoring, issues management and emergency response relating to these programs; and
Develop and deliver training and educational materials. -

This position will supervise a technical team comprised of a coordinator and technicians/technologist who are responsible for the Transportation & Works Department's review, commenting and setting of approval conditions of all Planning Act applications.
