Hamilton Water is carrying out major upgrades in the Hamilton Wastewater Treatment Facility, with a $315-million construction project underway, and you’re invited to join a team of leaders in the industry. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this exciting initiative, and provide leadership in a state-of-the-art operating environment as a Wastewater Treatment Superintendent.
Leveraging your operations maintenance and management experience, you will ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of Hamilton’s wastewater treatment programs by providing management, administration and oversight. You will be expected to ensure regulatory compliance and assume all responsibilities, as Overall Responsible Operator, for the operation, control and optimization of the Wastewater Treatment Plants, wastewater pumping stations and CSO tanks within the City of Hamilton.

Reports to and acts under the direction and approval of the Division Manager III. Prepares draft plan approval conditions for land development projects. Reviews, analyses and/or recommends acceptance of municipal servicing design drawings and various engineering reports and studies. Reviews applications under provincial legislation as part of the Transfer of Review Program. Reviews, monitors security and ensures compliance of Subdivision, Servicing and Reference Plan Agreements. Responsible for office and field duties related to engineering servicing of subdivision and land development.

Reports to Director, Water and Wastewater. Responsible for all engineering matters relating to both the supply system and distribution system for potable water supply in the City of London. Responsibility includes expansion and modifications to the water treatment, pumping stations, and distribution facilities for both of these systems and other related environmental matters.

The Manager of Water Operations is responsible for the management, operation and administration of the Water Operations Branch, which ensures residents and visitors of the City of Barrie receive a competent, continuous and sustainable supply of safe drinking water, as well as maintaining sufficient water supply for fire suppression purposes. Primarily, this involves directing the daily operational and maintenance activities of the Water Operations Branch to ensure compliance with all applicable, drinking water legislation, regulations and Branch, Department and Corporate policies and procedures. In addition, this position also develops, implements and oversees the administration of programs related to water treatment, supply and distribution, and customer service.

Responsible for overseeing the City’s LED Street Light Retrofit Project and associated activities within the Infrastructure Delivery Department. Manages and provides leadership in project development, including representing the Department/City at meetings with public stakeholders and Councillors. Identifies, evaluates and provides technical expertise and recommendations. Leads multi-disciplinary project teams and supervises/directs other technical personnel. Prepares Committee and Council reports, presentations, RFPs, RFQs, etc.
