    Project Manager: Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Asset Planning and Management, is responsible for the
    planning and implementation of capital projects as part of the 10-year Capital program, including project
    management services for asset and risk management, environmental assessments and design and construction of
    wastewater treatment facilities, solid waste facilities, watermains, pumping stations and/or sanitary sewers.

This position acts as part of the Senior Management Team involved in the formulation and execution of the City’s strategic plan. Specifically, this position is responsible for the oversight of Planning, Building, By-Law Enforcement, Committee of Adjustment, Crossing Guard and Engineering services.

    The Director of Public Works is the Township Engineer and is responsible for the Departments administration and coordination including engineering and maintenance of roads, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, municipal and private drains, water distribution system, sewage treatment plants and lagoons, solid waste collection and reduction programs, sidewalks, streetlights.     Under the general guidance and direction of the Manager of Design and Construction, the Senior Project Manager position is responsible for undertaking, directing and managing capital and operating projects for the City of Barrie’s municipal infrastructure. Specifically, this position manages the design, utility coordination, approvals, tendering and administration of assigned capital projects for the section of the Design and Construction Branch. Additionally, this position assists in the planning of capital projects for expansions and improvements to the City’s infrastructure and provides technical advice and guidance with respect to the impact of development on municipal networks. Lastly, this position oversees the collection, filing, and sales of engineering records. Overall, this position plays an integral role in managing assigned projects to ensure projects are delivered on scope, on schedule and within budget in accordance with City standards, and to enable the City of Barrie to continue to deliver the services that it provides; maintain community sustainability; and to provide a high quality of life for the citizens and visitors of the City of Barrie.
