As a Wastewater Treatment Process Superintendent, you will be responsible for the management, administration and oversight of the safe, efficient and effective delivery of Hamilton’s wastewater treatment programs. You will be expected to ensure regulatory compliance and assume all responsibilities as Overall Responsible Operator for the operation, control and optimization of the Wastewater Treatment Plants, wastewater pumping stations and CSO tanks within the City of Hamilton.

Project Manager:Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, is responsible for planning and implementing capital projects as part of the 10y ear Capital program and for providing project management services for environmental assessments and for the design and construction of roads, bridges, traffic control signals, street lighting, storm sewers, watermains and sanitary sewers.Senior Project Manager
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, is responsible for planning and implementing large, sensitive and complex capital projects as part of the 10-year Capital program; providing project management services for environmental assessments and the design and construction of roads, bridges, traffic control signals, street lighting, storm sewers, watermains and sanitary sewers; representing the Branch on corporate initiatives and leading teams in Branch process management and initiatives.

As a Design Project Manager, you will be accountable to the Senior Project Manager (Design Services) and ensure that Design projects are delivered according to City of Hamilton and provincial standards, and in compliance with legislative requirements. You will provide detailed design services and tendering for bridges, culverts, road, water and wastewater infrastructure, and co-ordinate the acquisition of property or easements and utility works, obtaining any project approvals or permits required.
We have both permanent and temporary opportunities available: 2 full-time, permanent positions; and 1 full-time, temporary position (for up to 12 months).

Reporting to the Manager, Design & Construction Services, be responsible for the daily operations of the construction group and for general construction management services during the delivery of municipal infrastructure projects.
Duties include providing day to day oversight for the operations of the Construction staff including scheduling and overseeing capital construction projects and coordinating and evaluating the construction inspection program; administering the procurement process for capital projects and providing direction on changes to project scope; liaising and negotiating with consultants, contractors and developers on engineering/construction related matters; preparing and delivering reports and presentations on construction related activities to Council, City Staff, external agencies, media and the public; participating on technical committees in the development of policy, review of practices for municipal construction and tendering/procurement; leading the commissioning process of completed capital projects as well as project reconciliation (i.e. financial, information, As-builts, etc.); providing input to annual operating budget cycle; assisting with project planning with regards to annual capital projects and forecast programs; and ensuring continuous improvement by reviewing best practices, investigating and identifying alternative/innovative service delivery methods.

As the Director of Engineering Services, you will be responsible to
the General Manager of Infrastructure Services for the complete
leadership, management, direction and operation of the Engineering
Services in support of quality customer service outcomes, and the
Strategic Business Plan for the Division. You will direct the following
services: Project Engineering (including design and drafting);
Construction Services (including surveying, utility locates, inspection
and materials testing); Project Management (including contract
administration); and Engineering Permitting, Technical Reviews and
Standards Development in support of other City Divisions.
