    The Senior Project Manager will lead, coordinate and/or conduct projects/studies to support the engineering and construction activities of the Utility Services Department. Lead and coordinate Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) processes for the City of Peterborough to ensure the planning and design of municipal infrastructure projects meet the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act.     Reporting to the Deputy City Manager – Development & Infrastructure, the City Engineer provides strategic direction and professional engineering leadership to the Engineering and Public Works Divisions. This involves design & approvals, construction and field services, traffic and parking operations, roads, water and waste water operations. The City Engineer develops and leads in the achievement of divisional goals, objectives and business plans, in alignment with departmental and corporate strategic priorities. Establishing annual work plans and managing the performance of direct reports is central to the role. The City Engineer will also ensure municipal compliance, coordination of the engineering and public works budgets, and accountability of each division. Maintaining solid working relationships with all stakeholders is key. The City Engineer will align behaviours with the expectations of the Senior Leadership Governance Model, all while demonstrating the City’s Corporate Values – Integrity, Respect, Inclusiveness, Service.

    This position is one of three field services technicians responsible for assisting with development and administration of a full range of operational programs relating to the maintenance of the city’s roadway & park assets, including roads, sidewalks, storm water systems, trees, flower beds, sport fields, etc.  This particular vacancy is primarily responsible for program development and project management in the delivery of roads and parks maintenance services and capital programs, including: asphalt overlay, sidewalk repairs, surface treatment, traffic operations, street lighting, storm drainage, and winter control operations.
