Reporting to the Director, Transportation Operations and Maintenance, you will be accountable for establishing and achieving departmental goals and objectives through the effective and efficient use of financial and staff resources, while implementing strategies to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency. This will see you providing both strategic leadership and coaching to subordinate staff within a large, multi-functional work group engaged in delivering services to the public, internal clients and external customers, with a focus on instilling a customer service focus right across the Section.
As Transportation Operations Manager, you’ll be counted upon to recommend policy and improvement strategies in the delivery of services to meet mandated goals and objectives, and to evaluate, prepare, and report on the Section’s financial, administrative and staff performance against internal and external benchmarks. Setting above-average standards and leading by example, you will leverage your demonstrated record of strong leadership and guidance, technical competence, customer focus, innovation and creativity, team advocacy, staff delegation, empowerment and development, and results orientation.

There is an opening within the Asset Management and Project Management Office Division, Corporate Enterprise Department available immediately; reporting to the Manager of Asset Management.

To manage the Engineering Department, including Capital Infrastructure Programs, Roads, Bridges, Water and Waste Water and Municipal Drainage within the County through the effective implementation of staff, financial and material resources.

Responsible for supporting wastewater service objectives through managing various projects, including but not limited to, improving system hydraulic efficiency through the use of flow monitors, inflow and infiltration projects, modelling and other related projects. Participates and contributes to wastewater infrastructure planning projects, while ensuring such projects are aligned and inclusive with capital works. Oversees technical review of development applications. Conducts research and benefit /cost analysis to determine best practices; identifies long-range strategies for responsible and sustainable wastewater and stormwater services; develops and manages policies, contracts, tenders, bylaws and other documents related to same. Provides technical support to staff. -
Reporting to the Supervisor, Engineering CADD, prepares and/or coordinates the preparation of detailed Civil Engineering design/construction drawings (using CADD software), approvals and tender documentation for all Capital Works Engineering Contracts. Provides design/construction support to all Capital Works projects as well as liaises with various internal and external resources to ensure all documentation conforms to requirements, standards and procedures.
