The City of Cambridge currently has an opening in the Waste Water Division of our Public Works Department available immediately.
Duties in Waste Water include performing maintenance operations in all areas Waste Water, operating various pieces of equipment; including flusher truck, mainline and lateral cameras, rods, etc.; working in manhole/sewer and pump station environments, etc.
The minimum requirements are; possession of a Grade 12 education, or equivalent; MOECC Operator In Training (OIT) Waste Water Collection certificate; 1 to 2 years’ experience in a municipal Waste Water collection system, or similar operation; possession of a valid ‘DZ’ License; and the ability to operate small maintenance tools and hand tools.
Regular hours of work are, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Staff are required to be available for overtime, as needed. This position is unionized (Outside Workers group) and the current hourly rate of pay is starting at $21.29 and a full benefit program is also provided.

The Village of Westport is a beautiful community of 750 residents situated on the Upper Rideau Lake, part of the Rideau Canal system, and north of the City of Kingston. The Corporation of the Village of Westport was formed in 1904 and is a member municipality of the upper tier United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.
Westport Village is looking for a progressive, innovative and results-oriented individual to fill our Municipal Engineer/Manager of Infrastructure position. Reporting to the Clerk, the Municipal Engineer's primary role is to manage infrastructure, including water and waste water systems, capital and maintenance projects from inception to completion.

In addition to five years of applicable municipal or related experience, the successful candidate will have post-secondary education in Civil or Mechanical Engineering combined with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles related to municipal infrastructure, construction activities, contract management, contract law, and relevant Federal and Provincial Standards, Acts and Regulations. Registration as a Professional Engineer by the Professional Engineers of Ontario is required. The incumbent will be a project manager with superior interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills to effectively prioritize, schedule and deliver work projects to meet deadline.
The successful candidate will have the ability to read, understand and evaluate engineering drawings and proposals, as well as the ability write procurement and engineering design documents and specifications. Strong computer skills, along with a class "G" driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. A Criminal Record Check is also required.
The Village offers a competitive benefit package and salary commensurate with qualifications and abilities. Salary Range is $70,000 -80,000. (2015)

Position: Division Manager III, Construction Administration

Summary:
Reports to the Director of Roads and Transportation. Responsible for planning, design, and implementation of capital infrastructure programs.
Work Performed:
Responsible for all aspects of the day to day operations of the Construction Administration Division.
Responsible for preparing and signing divisional and related reports to the Committees and Council and for the senior department managers. Attends Committee meetings as required.
Provides for training and performance reviews of personnel and recommends to the senior administration the divisional staff salary adjustments, promotions, demotions and disciplinary action, including terminations. Manage payroll time exceptions for 2 managers and 14 technical staff.
Develops, administers and monitors the divisional operating and capital budgets.
Select, administer, rate, and negotiate with consulting engineers for capital projects.
Ensure program and project managers successfully select, design, and implement capital projects including public engagement, approvals, design specifications, coordination, and business liaison.
Use engineering stamp to legally certify capital project designs and as-builts meet current and acceptable standards and that the health and safety of the public is protected.
Sign on behalf of City Engineer for capital projects payments, consulting engineering payments, geotechnical studies, and all associated material and service purchases necessary.
Represent City in legal claims associated with capital projects, contract disputes, property damage, and personal damage.
Manage and direct the external Utility Coordinating Committee (UCC) with regards to process, meetings, applications, and approvals. Manage MCA application software. Manage relationships with external UCC members including utilities and other agencies owning infrastructure in the right-of-way.
Provide input in the maintenance and creation of new and existing Municipal Access Agreements in conjunction with Legal Services and Geomatics.
Manage and direct the Internal Utility Coordinating Committee (IUCC) to coordinate short, medium, and long term capital plans for road, water, sewer, street light, traffic signal, trees, and sidewalks.
Communicate coordinated construction plans to public through webpages, letters, and media releases.
Provide technical advice in the creation and maintenance of technical standards and the City’s Standard Contract Documents.
Create and implement yearly Health and Safety continuous improvement plan.
Manage sewer asset management program including CCTV, analysis, asset modelling and creation of strategies to maximize available sewer budgets.
Specialized Training and Licenses:
Registered Professional Engineer, Province of Ontario.
Ten to fifteen years experience in municipal engineering with emphasis on infrastructure design, construction management, conflict resolution, public engagement, and asset management.
Project management training.
Salary: $85,857 to $115,837
