    Reporting to the Manager, Development Engineering (Stormwater Management and Subdivisions), the Grading Technician processes, investigates and resolves grading and drainage complaints under the Site Alteration By-Law, and performs technical review of engineering grading/servicing plans for Site Alteration Permits. Your duties include: PALIS database input and tracking, site inspection, grading plan review, circulation to other departments/agencies and issuance of permits. You will also be responsible for processing grading complaints associated with old and new subdivision development. In addition, you will participate in site inspection and meetings to facilitate resolution of complaints; recommend release or retention of permit securities, and respond to grading inquiries related to subdivision development and site alterations permits. You may also be required to provide assistance with processing Infill Residential Site Plan applications.

    Reporting to the Program Manager, Transportation Engineering, is responsible for implementing Regional Transportation Planning Programs and Policies (Transportation Master Plan and other Transportation related programs and policies) during infrastructure Environmental Assessments (EA’s) and detailed design; planning and providing support to capital projects as part of the transit and road capital programs; conducting and assisting in road and transit EA studies; conducting and assisting in transportation related infrastructure need and justification analysis; conducting major transportation studies and traffic operational analyses.

    Responsible for providing water distribution and wastewater collection systems modeling to support the hydraulic and hydrological analysis of existing and proposed water and wastewater infrastructure. This function will support water and wastewater service delivery objectives by providing expert analytical advice which will predict the hydraulic performance of the water and wastewater systems and other related projects. Provides input into the technical review of watermain and sewermain repair and replacement projects and development applications. This position is also responsible for updating the water and wastewater models by adding information from GIS, flow monitors, operational observations and other information as needed. The modeler will perform trouble-shooting and risk assessment of the models. Provides technical support to staff.

    Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Development Approvals, you will process – to approval – development applications pertaining to municipal servicing matters, and undertake engineering analyses required due to development activity. More specifically, you will review and comment on development applications daily, as well as review and approve engineering drawings and site servicing plans for sewer and water capacity, stormwater management and for servicing permit issuance. As a Development Coordinator, you will also be expected to prepare municipal servicing agreements, and present results in written and verbal formats to City staff, elected officials, and the public.
