Reporting to the Manager, Development Review, the Project Manager, Infrastructure Approvals is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely processing of engineering review and approvals on a variety of development applications such as subdivision and condominium plans, Zoning By-law amendments, Official Plan amendments and site plans. Reviews and approves engineering designs for water, road and sewer proposals, storm water management. Manages peer review and master studies and assists the program manager in identifying future needs. Reviews and approves lot grading and drainage plans, slope stability studies, hydrogeology and soil studies, noise and traffic impact studies, environmental assessments and other related engineering designs prepared by external consultants for development-related proposals. Acts for the Senior Infrastructure Approvals Engineer in his/her absence, and provides functional supervision on an on-going basis.

Reporting to the Manager of Stormwater, this position will be responsible for the review and management of programs, projects and major studies dealing with inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation of the municipal stormwater infrastructure and natural watercourses, master drainage plans, Class Environmental Assessments related to stormwater management, new development applications, water resources, and other environmental projects.

Under the general guidance and direction of the Supervisor of Engineering, the Engineering Project Manager is responsible for undertaking and directing capital and operating projects for the City of Barrie’s municipal infrastructure. Specifically, this position manages the design, utility coordination, approvals, tendering and administration of assigned capital and operating projects for a unit in the Renewals section of the Design Branch. Additionally, this position assists in the planning of capital and operating projects for expansions and improvements to the City’s infrastructure and provides technical advice and guidance with respect to the impact of development on municipal networks. Overall, this position plays an integral role in supervising assigned projects to ensure projects are delivered on scope, on schedule, and within budget in accordance with City standards, and to enable the City of Barrie to continue to deliver the services that it provides; maintain community sustainability; and to provide a high quality of life for the citizens and visitors of the City of Barrie. -
The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Manager, Engineering Services this role is responsible for supporting the design and construction, maintenance, and assumption of Town stormwater management facilities through actively managing storm water projects. The Ideal Candidate We are seeking an engineering professional with a post-secondary degree/diploma in Civil, Water Resources or Environmental Engineering or closely related field. Our ideal candidate has 5-7 years of related experience in water resources and/or civil/environment engineering. The ideal candidate will support the design and construction, maintenance, and assumption of Town stormwater management facilities through actively managing storm water projects. We are seeking an individual who has the ability to review the scope of each project with the various stakeholders to ensure that the defined goals, scope of work, and project justification are clear and accurate to meet the requirements of the Town. This position offers a salary range of $85,536.77 - $100,614.01 plus a competitive benefit package. Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
