The Engineering Asset Manager is responsible for developing short- and long-term asset management strategies for the City’s linear infrastructure. This position will develop decision frameworks, business processes, and tools that incorporate capital and operating budget development. This position will also be responsible for initiating the engineering studies and municipal construction projects that are required to support the asset management strategies.

Reporting to the Director, Transportation Special Projects, this position is responsible for leading the project team undertaking the engineering, planning and construction activities related to the implementation phase of the Hurontario LRT project (Gateway Terminal southerly to Mississauga) and other rapid transit projects. This position will provide direction to staff to undertake project design, utility relocation, property acquisition, tendering and construction phases; oversees consultants; manage technical staff; prepare various reports; investigate improved methods; and develop plans and strategies to protect the City’s interests.

Reporting to the Director, Engineering and Transportation, the Manager, Infrastructure Engineering oversees staff, general contractors, consultants and external agencies involved in the planning and design stage of all projects administered directly by the District’s Public Works division. The incumbent also represents the District on projects administered by various consultants and maintains close communication with utility companies, consulting engineers, area municipalities, and other levels of government.

Reporting to the Division Manager IV, Transportation Planning & Design, the Transportation Design Engineer assists in the administration of the Transportation Program and provides project management for the design, construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure including roads, bridges and culverts.

Reporting to the Manager of Transportation Operations, you’ll ensure that transportation engineering initiatives are delivered in accordance with City and Provincial guidelines through the effective and efficient use of financial and staff resources, while recommending improvement strategies in the delivery of services to meet mandated goals and objectives.
More specifically, as a Senior Project Manager of Transportation Engineering, you’ll provide leadership to subordinate staff within a multi-functional workforce engaged in the delivery and direction of services to the public and internal clients.
