Under the general direction of the Division Manager IV, Wastewater & Drainage Engineering, the Project Manager, Environmental Assessment, provides information and advice to Managers and engineering staff in the Division regarding Municipal Class Environmental Assessments and contributes to the development of strategic approaches to promote the goals and objectives of Environmental and Engineering Services as they relate to Municipal Council’s Strategic Plans.

Reporting to the Manager, Development Engineering (Stormwater Management and Subdivisions), the Grading Technician processes, investigates and resolves grading and drainage complaints under the Site Alteration By-Law, and performs technical review of engineering grading/servicing plans for Site Alteration Permits. Your duties include: PALIS database input and tracking, site inspection, grading plan review, circulation to other departments/agencies and issuance of permits. You will also be responsible for processing grading complaints associated with old and new subdivision development. In addition, you will participate in site inspection and meetings to facilitate resolution of complaints; recommend release or retention of permit securities, and respond to grading inquiries related to subdivision development and site alterations permits. You may also be required to provide assistance with processing Infill Residential Site Plan applications.
