The Business Improvements and Standards (BIS) unit provides business sustainment support, business improvement and operational support to the capital delivery, engineering review and other engineering support units within Engineering & Construction Services (ECS). The BIS unit closely works with other divisions within the City and plays a key role in developing and implementing new guidelines, standards, specifications, practices and procedures affecting municipal infrastructure. The unit engages in industry consultations to review best practices and emerging trends, while finding and promoting opportunities for improved service delivery.
As an experienced Senior Engineer in Engineering Support Services, your role will be to provide project management, technical expertise and engineering input in the renewal, development, implementation and maintenance of procedures, manuals, design guidelines, construction standards and specifications, tender documents, and capital procurement templates. In your role, you will provide specialized technical advice, undertake research, provide technical training and consult with other City divisions and industry to support the units of the Division.
