Reporting directly to the Manager, Corporate Asset Management, this individual is responsible for leading the delivery and ongoing management of an effective departmental asset management plan for various operating departments which includes a diverse group of assets. Interact on a regular basis through formal and informal meetings with departmental management to thoroughly understand ongoing operating and capital business needs, while providing exceptional leadership, customer service, communication and strategic insight. Provide recommendations on the prioritization of the City's infrastructure replacement needs given the City's available financial resources and new infrastructure funding supported by optimized evidence based decision making. Liaise with other senior business partners from Human Resources, Information Technology, Internal Audit, Service Innovation and Corporate Performance, Strategic Communications, and Corporate Finance/Client Services to discuss and address current and changing business needs by analyzing, recommending and implementing corporate performance solutions and process enhancements as they relate to the effective use, management and replacement of the City's infrastructure assets and delivering on Councils approved program service levels. Promote an environment of trust, respect, diversity and inclusiveness throughout the organization.The Program Manager, Corporate Asset Management will play an active part in the development and shaping of the following functional key roles as carried through the Corporate Asset Management Office.

Responsible for preparation of the Transportation Master Plan Update and other related projects and policies; review of transportation impacts of official plans amendments and secondary plans; maintaining the City’s Travel Demand Forecasting Model; providing project management services for environmental assessments; conducting and managing major transportation studies, engineering feasibility studies and traffic operational analysis including identification, evaluation and assessment of proposed transportation infrastructure improvements to support the expansion and improvements of City’s road systems related to growth; preparing transportation input into Development Charge By-law updates. Leads and directs the activities of project teams, which may include internal staff and external resources.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Development Approvals and leading by example, you will be responsible for the review and approval of all aspects of municipal infrastructure engineering design, including stormwater management facilities related to development projects. This will include the preparation and implementation of City of Hamilton development agreements.

Under the general guidance and direction of the Supervisor of Engineering, the Project Engineer is responsible for undertaking and directing capital and operating projects for the City of Barrie’s municipal infrastructure. Specifically, this position manages the design, utility coordination, approvals, tendering, and administration of assigned capital and operating projects for a unit in the Growth section of the Design Branch. Additionally, this position assists in the planning of capital and operating projects for expansions and improvements to the City’s infrastructure and provides technical advice and guidance with respect to the impact of development on municipal networks. Overall, this position plays an integral role in supervising assigned projects to ensure projects are delivered on scope, on schedule, and within budget in accordance with City standards, and to enable the City of Barrie to continue to deliver the services that it provides; maintain community sustainability; and to provide a high quality of life for the citizens and visitors of the City of Barrie.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of the Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project, while remaining aligned with corporate strategy, and values. In order to realize the project benefits (water loss and I&I reductions) as quantified, the project needs to be completed on schedule within approved budget.
