Reporting to the Manager, Development Engineering, and drawing on your expertise in civil engineering, you will review development applications made under the Planning Act, including official plan amendments, secondary plans, plans of subdivision, zoning by-law amendments, part lot control, complex site plan control, land divisions, and plans of condominium.
As a Development Engineer, you will facilitate and coordinate all engineering-related comments and correspondence to City Planning from internal departments and external agencies, and review engineering plans and studies – including servicing, grading, stormwater management and geotechnical reports – submitted in support of development applications. Along with determining the scope and cost of all new City infrastructure required to support the proposed development, and discussing, negotiating and reviewing development agreements to ensure that all works-related matters are properly secured, you may also be assigned other projects related to land development and departmental policy development.

The successful candidate will work with the team to deliver the objectives of the Water and Climate Change Science & Knowledge Transfer Program. Specifically, the candidate will direct research and lead projects that promote and support watershed protection and risk reduction in light of climate change. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for personnel development, working in collaboration with other departments and external partners, securing program funding, and assisting with achieving the goals of CVC’s Strategic Plan.

Reporting to the Coordinator of Asset Management - Linear, this position is responsible for operating and maintaining the City’s Linear Asset Information and Decision Support Systems. The incumbent will undertake the collection and verification of asset inventory, condition and costing data used for life cycle modeling and analysis. The position will provide support in the preparation of the 10-year Capital Budget & Forecast.

Under the direction of the Director of Public Works & Engineering, the Manager of Infrastructure is responsible for the management of the County of Renfrew’s Public Works infrastructure. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, professional responsibility for the management of the preparation of engineering designs, specifications and tenders for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of County Public Works infrastructure using both internal and resources in accordance with established policies, procedures and codes of practice; management of the Department’s asset management program including the development of long-range programs and business plans to address infrastructure needs.
