The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking an energetic and self motivated individual to perform the full time duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator.
General Responsibilities:
To perform effectively all aspects of work related to the project coordination and administration of major capital works projects; design of minor capital improvement projects; review and comment on the municipal servicing component of Capital Works projects and proposed development design drawings; respond to enquiries; develop, review and recommend policies standards and procedures with regard to infrastructure construction; perform site inspections; attend construction meetings; recommend letter of credit reductions and releases for developments; conduct surveys; maintain project schedule and budget; and assist with administration of the Town’s public transit system. The emphasis of this position will be of the coordination and administration of Municipal Capital Works Projects ensuring that they are on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications:
•A Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and possess or is eligible for P.Eng. or C.E.T. designation, together with a minimum of five (5) years related experience in municipal services engineering;
•Detailed knowledge of municipal infrastructure design, construction and contract administration, plans review, subdivision development, storm water management and lot grading;
•Thorough knowledge of: Windows Microsoft and Office applications; AutoCAD software (design experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D considered an asset); construction survey instruments and techniques; Occupational Health and Safety Act; WHMIS; and relevant legislation/guidelines/policies and procedures;
•Knowledge of basic principles of land use planning;
•Experience with WaterCAD software for water distribution system modelling and analysis would be considered an aset;
Excellent interpersonal, communication, report writing, organizational, analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills; •Ability to deal independently, courteously and professionally in any situation and work with and contribute positively to a service oriented team;
•Valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s Licence in good standing and a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business;
•Clean criminal reference check.
Salary Range: $69,098 - $80,829 (40 hour/week)

The Credit Valley Conservation Authority (CVC) is a partnership of the municipalities within the Credit River Watershed. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT REVIEW ANALYST (ENGINEERING)
Full-Time Permanent Position
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering Plan Review this position will analyze and co-ordinate the engineering-based review of municipal Environmental Assessment applications submitted for infrastructure projects. This position wil l work as part of a team and will require experience in stormwater and floodplain management. Collaborate with Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) staff, municipal staff and their consultants in order to resolve issues. Support broader CVC initiatives associated with conserving, protecting, enhancing and restoring water and aquatic resources.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
•University degree in engineering or applied science specializing in water resources management and/or municipal engineering
•Minimum 3 years’ experience relating to water resources, environmental and municipal engineering
•Professional Engineer designation in Ontario (PEO) preferred
•Experience with the Environmental Assessment Act and the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process
•Working knowledge of policies in stormwater and floodplain management and erosion and sediment control practices
•Strong working knowledge of commonly used hydrologic and hydraulic computer models
•Training, education and/or experience in fluvial geomorphology an asset
•Understanding of geotechnical principles and practices an asset
•Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
SUMMARY OF MAJOR TASKS
Perform the following tasks under limited direction:
•Exercise good judgement in the review of Municipal Class EA projects and providing engineering comments in accordance with CVC policies and guidelines and engineering priniciples.
•Collaborate on an ongoing basis with professionals from other disciplines within a team framework and provide input as necessary.
•Develop and maintain effective client relations by collaborating on an ongoing basis with municipal staff and their cons ultants through regular meetings.
•Provide a solution oriented approach while demonstrating strengths in creativity, analytical analysis and engineering methodologies and protocols
•Maintain excellence in client services (both internally and externally) through employing effective interpersonal and communication skills.
•Perform other duties and projects assigned as appropriate to the position.

Reporting to the County Engineer – Director of Operations, the Manager of Public Works is responsible for strategic direction and leadership within Public Works and Fleet Services.
Key responsibilities Include:
•Applying sound business principles to administer and direct department initiatives and operations efficiently at the highest level of quality and service
•Developing and implementing short and long term departmental goals, business plans and objectives in alignment with corporate strategies
•Ensuring Municipal compliance with legislated requirements, and sound engineering standards and practices
•Preparing and controlling operational and capital budgets for Public Works including Fleet Services and Bridge and Culvert projects, ensuring all services are delivered within budget
•Developing, approving and maintaining engineering standards for all municipal assets and infrastructure •Participating in emergency planning and ensuring appropriate Public Works response time when dealing with issues and concerns of County residents
•Promoting a productive work environment while working with Human Resources to provide regular feedback, performance assessments and coaching to department staff
•Integrating Health and Safety into all aspects of the department’s operations and ensuring that all employees work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
•Maintaining positive working relationships with all stakeholders including members of Council, County staff, Municipalities, the media and community groups at large
•Preparing reports and giving presentations to Council to communicate and/or recommend program changes
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
•Licensed Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) or a CET with 5-10 years of experience will be considered
•5 years management level experience in engineering, preferably in the municipal environment
•Possess a thorough understanding of legislation and policies that affect local government, including familiarity with municipal law, insurance and labour relations
•Broad range of experience in a variety of areas including all disciplines of Civil Engineering, administration and management, finance and accounting, statute, contract and common law, fleet procurement and management, and computer applications to engineering and management
•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
•Demonstrates and promotes professionalism, respect and customer oriented behavior
•Promotes a team based environment within the workplace and throughout the community
•Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form
•Valid Class G Ontario driver’s License

An immediate opportunity exists for an experienced Water Resources Engineer within the Water Resources & Development Services Division of the Engineering & Public Works Department. The incumbent is primarily responsible for the review and management of projects and major studies dealing with the rehabilitation of municipal stormwater infrastructure and natural watercourses. The incumbent reviews and provides technical comments on all development applications, master drainage plans and Class Environmental Assessments related to stormwater management, water resources, water and wastewater, and other environmental issues. They also provide supervision to the Coordinator, Water Resources.
Successful applicants will have a Bachelors Degree in Civil, Water Resources or Environmental Engineering and be registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or eligible for membership. They will possess five years progressively responsible experience related to water resources and environmental engineering related to the municipal environment with significant emphasis on stormwater management issues, to include at least one year in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience with operating and maintaining a monitoring program for stormwater ponds would be an asset.
Working knowledge and application of Federal and Provincial regulations and requirements including but not limited to the Environmental Assessment Act, Ministry of the Environment Stormwater Management Bests Management Practices Manual, Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act, Ontario Water Resources Acts, Environmental Protection Act, Federal Fisheries Act. Working knowledge of current stormwater management modelling techniques, such as Visual OTTHYMO, HEC-RAS, OTTSWMM, PCSWMM, associated with design and analysis is required. Broad knowledge and understanding of civil engineering principles related to hydrology, hydraulics and stormwater management.
A valid class G Ontario Driver’s Licence and personal vehicle are required as well as a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Reference Check. You must be willing to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, and be medically and physically fit to perform the duties of this position.
Remuneration includes a comprehensive benefits package, pension plan and an annual salary ranging from $80,426 to $96,516* (based on a 35 hour work week). * 2013 Salary rate

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 35; Scheduled Shifts: 0830 - 1630
Temporary Full-Time, Approx. 23 months, Salary $45.65 - $49.61 per hour
Reporting to the Program Manager, Transportation Planning, is responsible for reviewing and commenting on transportation impacts of official plans, secondary plans and major development applications; producing and analyzing travel demand forecasts; and determining the need and impacts of future transportation facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
• University degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering or Planning, or related discipline or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Registration with a recognized professional planning or engineering organization.
• Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated experience in transportation planning.
• Thorough knowledge of transportation planning principles, concepts, practices, methods and legislation, GTA context and roles of different levels of government.
• Demonstrated knowledge of transportation and environmental science, modelling methodology, tools and techniques, TDM measures, pedestrian and cycling facilities planning, transit systems, roads planning and design standards.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
• Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications as well as proficiency with the application of specialized software relevant to the technical specialty.
• Ability to identify issues, challenges and opportunities and propose solutions.
• Ability to negotiate/facilitate, build consensus and present information to varied audiences.
• Ability to travel to off site locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
