The Town of Tillsonburg is a progressive municipality on the leading edge of technology nestled in the heart of beautiful Southern Ontario. The Town is seeking a dynamic customer service oriented professional team player.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager of Engineering is responsible for Engineering and Asset Management, including program planning, capital budgets and forecasts, road reconstruction, surveys, drafting and GIS records management for municipal public works infrastructure.
The ideal candidate shall have a minimum of four (4) years of management/supervisory experience, as well as a four (4) year Engineering degree, preferably in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Registration as a Professional Engineer with the PEO and a registered member of the Ontario Society of Engineering are both required. Experience within a municipal setting would be considered an asset.

Reporting to the Manager of Approvals this position assists with the review and approval of the engineering components of development applications including site plans, plans of subdivision, Official Plan Amendments and Zoning By-Law Amendments; undertakes the review of the engineering aspects of Committee of Adjustment applications; answers inquiries from and liaises within the Department, with other City Departments, developers, consultants and external agencies.
Qualifications:
•University degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
•Eligible for or holder of the Professional Engineer's designation and full membership in the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
•Minimum 1 year municipal engineering experience.
•Ability to work with all levels of government and business.
•Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.
•Effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
•Experience in a computerized office environment with experience in use of AutoCad, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook as well as Adobe Acrobat and an internet browser.
•Valid Class 'G' driver's license in good standing and reliable vehicle to use required.
•Familiarity with sanitary sewer, storm sewer, stormwater management, watermain and road design. -

INFRASTRUCTURE ASSET MANAGEMENT BRANCH
Location: Newmarket, Ontario.
This is a Union position.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 37.5; Scheduled Shifts: 0830 - 1630
Temporary Full-Time, Approx. 16 months
Salary $40.88 - $44.43 per hour
Reporting to the Program Manager, Asset Inspections, is responsible for providing technical support to the Asset Management Team in overseeing and coordinating the execution of projects and providing administrative assistance for project documentation; assisting with research, planning, development, implementation, evaluation and administration of various inspection and condition assessment programs to provide data and engineering analysis of the physical integrity of water and wastewater assets that are required to assist the Department in managing risk, predicting rehabilitation and renewal requirements and determining asset valuations.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Successful completion of a three year Community College Diploma Program in Environmental or Civil Engineering Technology.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in inspection, assessment or construction of water and wastewater assets such as sanitary sewers, watermains and discrete facilities, such as pumping stations, treatment, reservoirs and elevated water towers.
• Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license, free of serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
• General knowledge of building components involved in the construction of water and wastewater facilities.
• Knowledge of construction practices relating to infrastructure construction, C.C.T.V. sewer inspection practices and tunneling construction.
• Knowledge of procurement of goods and services processes.
• Familiarity with the use of trenchless technology in the repair and restoration of infrastructure.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
• Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications as well as proficiency with the application of specialized software relevant to the technical specialty.
• Demonstrated research and analytical skills.
• Ability to set priorities with competing demands and meet required deadlines.
• Ability to word outside normal business hours as required.

The MEA is seeking an Executive Director The MEA is a non profit organization that represents over 700 engineers working for 110 municipalities in Ontario. Our volunteers serve on our Executive Board and on many committees that impact the way we deliver engineering and public works services in our municipalities. Our current Executive Director is retiring after several years of service and we are seeking a new Executive Director to commence work with us by the spring of 2015. The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the Municipal Engineers Association and working with the elected Board of Directors. Duties include formulating policy; developing and coordinating member services/products; assisting the Executive Board’s long-range/strategic planning; attending Executive Board and Committee meetings and Association events; acting as advisor, liaison and Recording Secretary to the Executive Board; implementing Executive Board decisions; assisting promoting/ marketing the Association; overseeing the publication of Association periodicals; overseeing the hosting and organization of Association events; representing the Association with external agencies and on behalf of the Board as required; liaising with member municipalities/agencies, Provincial Ministries and staff and with other stakeholder groups. The duties may expand to incorporate supervision of staff as the association grows. This part-time position currently requires about a 1000 hours of service throughout the year. Manager of Water Services (FILE 15-2158-SM)

Responsible for the oversight, coordination, business planning and execution of the City’s provision of Water Services to the City’s residents and businesses. Directly managing the activities of the Water Division of Environmental Services which encompasses water infrastructure planning, operations, technical services, studies and projects, and capital planning; including the implementation of service procedures and establishing project priorities. Responsible for the administration of operational contracts, equipment tenders, maintenance programming of water, budget preparation, preparing reports and recommendations. Participates on various municipal committees, liaises with other levels of government, ensures maintenance of established service levels. Responds to and/or addresses inquiries from the public, Council, contractors and City staff.
Qualifications and experience:
Successful completion of a University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university and registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario and possesses a minimum of 7 years proven, progressive and more responsible related work experience with at least 5 years of supervisory experience of both union and non-union staff (inclusive of EIT experience), preferably in a municipal environment.

Successful completion of a three (3) year Community College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and full membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related program and possesses a minimum of 9 years proven, progressive and more responsible related work experience with at least 5 years of supervisory experience of both union and non-union staff, preferably in a municipal environment.
-Preferred candidates will hold valid Water Distribution Level 2 or higher license, as issued by the Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
-Proven leadership skills demonstrated through coaching, mentoring, change management and continuous improvement capabilities.
-Thorough working knowledge of contemporary maintenance management methods and municipal water distribution maintenance and operational processes.
-Knowledge of collective agreement administration and labour relations principles and practices, and “Competent” under Occupational Health and Safety Act.
-Demonstrated results/achievement and focus in, human resources management, leadership, financial management, business planning, decision making and judgement.
-Proven abilities in customer service, teamwork, initiative/ self-management, accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
-Strong report writing and project management skills, with the ability to achieve program objectives successfully while working towards tight deadlines.
-Ability to conduct oneself in a manner bestowing tact and diplomacy in a political environment.
-Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with highly developed communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, all levels of the organization and the public including highly effective negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
-Proficient computer skills, including good working knowledge and application of word processing, database, spreadsheet and e-mail software applications as well as electronic purchasing systems.
-Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the City's core competencies and relevant functional competencies.
-Flexible and available to work irregular hours including weekends as required.
