        Demonstrate your experience in applying the principles of engineering in the design and/or construction of trunk watermains, water treatment or wastewater treatment, when you join the City of Toronto as a Senior Project Manager (Senior Engineer).

    As a Senior Project Manager (Senior Engineer) in Capital Works Delivery, you will provide advanced project management for large, multi-disciplined capital projects. Your project management expertise and leadership will support project delivery for the Engineering and Construction Services Wastewater Plants Section and the Linear/Trunk Watermains Section. As a Senior Project Manager (Senior Engineer), you will be in charge of project delivery for large-scale infrastructure projects – from the conceptual design through to construction and commissioning, including stakeholder and client management.

    KEY QUALIFICATIONS
    Your application for the role of Senior Project Manager (Senior Engineer) must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
    •Extensive project management experience in an engineering environment.
    •Extensive experience applying the principles of engineering in the design and/or construction of trunk watermains, water treatment or wastewater treatment.
    •Experience in the delivery of large scale multi-million dollar and multi-year projects.
    •Experience in developing reports, RFPs/proposals and presentations.
    •Experience in client management and communicating with a diverse group of stakeholders.
    •Experience in contract administration (design and construction) including change orders, claims and claim resolutions and scope management.
    •Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing at all organizational levels.
    •Ability to effectively communicate technical information in a user friendly capacity.
    •Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
    •Ability to collaborate and work effectively with contractors, colleagues, elected officials, consultants, developers, and other internal and external clients and stakeholders.
    •Considerable knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations for construction projects.
    •High proficiency in the use of general computer software including Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
    •Possession of or working towards an Ontario Certified Engineering Technologist and Technician Certificate (OACETT) would be an asset.
    •Possession of or working towards a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) would be an asset.
    •Must possess a valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and have daily access to a vehicle to travel to various work locations and construction sites in a timely and efficient manner.


    Salary Range: $89,502 - $111,020 per year

    The Township of St. Clair is seeking a proactive individual for the Coordinator of Engineering position to manage the Engineering Division within the Public Works Department. Reporting to the Director of Public Works, the successful candidate is responsible for supervising all engineering issues related to; the design and construction of public works, development & site plan review, preparing reports, requests for proposals, ensuring compliance with all provincial and municipal regulations, standards and specifications. The details of this position are currently under review. 

    Qualifications will include:
    •A University degree in Civil Engineering or a College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
    •P.Eng. or C.E.T designation from PEO or OACETT
    •Minimum of five years’ experience in Municipal Engineering
    •Experience working in Microsoft Office, CAD and various modeling software
    •Knowledge of roads, stormwater, water and wastewater design and management practices
    •Experience in project management and report writing is essential
    •Possess excellent communication skills
    •Possess a valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License

    If you’re a Professional Engineer with experience in managing complex projects, including condition assessment, design, construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of bridges, structures and expressways, consider joining the City of Toronto as Manager, Bridges, Structures & Expressways.

    Reporting to the Director, Engineering & Construction Services, you will lead and manage staff involved in condition assessment and infrastructure planning, and the design and construction of works for the City’s bridges, structures and expressways, including culverts, retaining and noise barrier walls, embankments and overhead signs.

    KEY QUALIFICATIONS
    Your application for the role of Manager – Bridges, Structures & Expressways must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
    •Extensive management experience in the area of condition assessment, design, construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of bridges, structures and expressways.
    •Extensive project management experience managing complex projects from inception through to implementation and evaluation.
    •Considerable experience in managing, coordinating and administering engineering, professional services and large-scale construction contracts.
    •Considerable experience in the preparation of request for proposals for engineering and professional services assignments, the preparation of tenders for construction projects and the preparation of contract documents and reports.
    •Experience in managing and/or supervising the day to day operations of all assigned staff.
    •Must be a qualified Engineer as defined by the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
    •Extensive knowledge of the principles of civil engineering, structural engineering and of materials and methods of construction and rehabilitation of bridges, structures and expressways.
    •Knowledge of technological advances/approaches and regulatory requirements associated with the condition assessment, rehabilitation and reconstruction of bridges, structures and expressways.
    •Knowledge of financial reporting processes, including budget preparation and control, expenditure forecasting, preparation and interpretation of financial reports; and reporting on key performance indicators.
    •Ability to operate as a fully accountable program leader and as a member of a management team.
    •Ability to motivate a diverse work force, promote and foster effective teamwork and establish excellence in a customer service oriented environment.
    •Ability to work in a highly demanding work environment with many competing priorities and deadlines.

    This is a non-union position with York Region Rapid Transit Corporation at 3601 Highway 7 in Markham, ON.
    Please note that this is not a York Region position.

    POSITION PURPOSE:
    Reporting to the Manager/Senior Project Manager Engineering-YRRTC, is responsible for coordinating utility relocation activities for subway and surface transit facilities related to the implementation of large scale complex projects that support the rapid transit initiatives (vivaNext) within the Region; supporting the capital development of multi-year strategic programs and projects, such as the operations and maintenance facilities for BRT, bus terminals, parking strategy and planning, and development of Regional assets; acting as liaison and coordinating with utility companies, design-build contractors, various levels of government, Regional and municipal departments; overseeing, coordinating and providing technical input to utility relocation activities for rapid transit initiatives, as undertaken by design-build contractors, the Region, YRT and YRRTC.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Successful completion of a University Degree in Engineering, or related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must possess related professional designation.
    • Project Manager I: Minimum three (3) years experience/Project Manager II: Minimum five (5) years experience demonstrating significant success in managing related work including experience managing moderate or large scale projects and demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
    • Knowledge and experience in various planning approvals under the Planning Act and familiarity with processes and procedures for the acquisition of land.
    • Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
    • Experience in or knowledge of public transportation.
    • Demonstrated experience participating in multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional teams.
    • Understanding of municipal, regional and provincial government operations.
    • Knowledge of project planning principles, concepts, practices, methods and legislation.
    • Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management and accountability and flexibility/adaptability.
    • Management competencies including results/achievement focus, human resources management, leadership, financial management, business planning, decision making/judgement, representation and professionalism and job knowledge.
    • Contemporary staff supervisory skills including knowledge of collective agreement administration and interpretation, labour relations principles and practices, and relevant employment legislation.
    • Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications including word processing, spreadsheet, scheduling, data base and presentation applications.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills on technical and non-technical matters.
    • Demonstrated abilities in assigned field of expertise.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Ability to travel to off-site locations, in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
    • Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required.
