The Position
Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Capital Projects, you’ll be responsible for the management and administration of the Town’s roads and related infrastructure capital projects. Key duties include planning, designing, organizing, constructing, and controlling to ensure timely completion of the Town’s capital projects; participating in needs assessment and master planning initiatives relating to planning for trails, facilities, and open spaces as required; directing a multidisciplinary team of professional consultants and contractors for projects ranging in complexity from road reconstruction to storm drainage systems, traffic signals and lighting, bridges and underground services; developing and maintaining asset management information systems; preparing and administering the capital projects budget and 10 year forecast; and supervising and developing assigned staff. -

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting directly to the Director, this role is responsible for managing the design, administration and delivery of roads, bridges, storm sewers, storm water management facilities and pedestrian capital improvement projects. -

Responsible for maintaining current programs and the development of new initiatives related to the transportation planning within the Town. This position will be the departmental representative at a number of external committees related to major transportation projects by the Ministry of Transportation, Halton Region and neighboring municipalities. This position will advance the municipality in areas of Active Transportation, Complete Streets, Transportation Demand Management, and Accessible Transit and will represent the department at the required Council Committees.
Responsibilities:
·Manage and comment on major internal and external transportation planning initiatives.
·Review and comment on Secondary Plans, Traffic impact studies and the Town capital program related to long term transportation impacts, active transportation, complete streets and multi-modal needs.
·Act as the departmental representation on internal and external committees, such as the Trails and Cycling committee.
·Undertake or oversee independent research into emerging transportation planning trends and recommend changes to guidelines, standards and procedures.
·Coordinate and provide advice to senior staff, developers and the public regarding transportation planning matters.
·Manage Town initiated transportation planning studies and Municipal Class Environmental Assessments for road projects.
·Provide professional advice related to developing and updating the Town’s Development Charges By-law.
·Meet with community and special interest groups in a collaborative, results oriented manner.
·Oversee the planning and assessment of School Crossing Guard locations.
·Provide the highest standard of customer service for both internal and external customers of the department. ·Perform other transportation related duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $67,959 - $80,902

Reporting to the Program Manager, Infrastructure Management, is responsible for reviewing existing water and wastewater and solid waste systems; developing and implementing various water, wastewater and solid waste infrastructure management programs, including infrastructure inspection and data collection program, operations and maintenance optimization strategies, risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies, condition assessment and lifecycle analysis; and conducting rehabilitation and replacement planning for water, wastewater and solid waste infrastructure..

Temporary Full-Time, Approx. 21 months, Salary $39.33 - $42.75 per hour
Reporting to the Program Manager, W/WW System Performance and Mitigation, is responsible for coordinating and implementing various performance, improvement and strategic programs for the Department, such as Business Process Improvements, Performance Metrics, Inflow and Infiltration Reduction Strategy and assisting in the Department’s Strategic Plan/Goals; developing and maintaining guidelines, standards, policies and procedures for work being conducted on behalf of the Department; coordinating and working on projects with external consultants or contractors; performing program and project planning; and integrating technical information into evolving Departmental knowledge database.
