Reporting to the Manager, Utilities Engineering, the Engineer duties will include: short/mid-range infrastructure planning, asset management reporting, and planning involved in the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure. Demonstrating leadership, coordination, technical and organizational skills, the incumbent will be responsible for the design, cost estimating, specification, tender document creation, and construction administration for various linear and facility infrastructure renewal projects. The incumbent will have demonstrated the ability to foster innovativeness by encouraging and being receptive to suggestion and new ideas and will have successfully applied change management strategies to facilitate the adaptation of new policies, procedures, and technologies. The incumbent will liaise with external agencies, internal departments and the general public on various projects.
The successful incumbent will be effective working in a team environment where consensus and cross-functional collaborations are critical to success and where customer/client service is appreciated and understood.

Filling a vacant position, you will be reporting to the Manager of Project Engineering and will use your traffic engineering and project management expertise to provide leadership in the area of technical operations, maintenance, and safety as it relates to the County arterial road network. -
As Project Manager of Water and Wastewater Infrastructure, you will assume accountability and responsibility for the overall development, implementation and execution of projects related to water and wastewater facility asset management. Knowledgeable and experienced in infrastructure systems, investigation and construction, you’re well equipped to lead the development and management of engineering and financial studies, liaise with consultants, oversee budgets and provide direction to subordinate staff in a multi-function workforce.

Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure Planning, you will provide leadership in a multidisciplinary team environment to staff carrying out tasks related to capital projects and development reviews required to facilitate the City’s growth and redevelopment. As a Senior Project Manager, you will assume day-to-day responsibilities for the growth infrastructure environmental assessment elements of the Infrastructure Planning Section and development engineering reviews. At the heart of your job will be ensuring that the needs of Hamilton residents and businesses are not only met but regularly exceeded, and that all work is delivered in accordance with City and Provincial policies, and in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner using a “best practices” approach.
