Keeping current with technological developments in the field of engineering, you welcome this opportunity with the City of Toronto Engineering & Construction Services Division to take on wide-ranging engineering assignments – from conducting research and defining project scope to evaluating impact on existing structure and recommending new systems and work procedures.
As an Engineer in Bridges, Structures and Expressways, in either of these two positions, you’ll provide project management, contract administration, technical expertise and engineering input on the planning, design, construction, and asset management reviews and inspections of bridges and structures such as retaining walls. Leading by example as a subject matter expert, you’ll oversee, review and direct the work of engineering consultants, engage consultants and contractors by preparing bid packages, assist in the management of research and/or project operations requiring engineering knowledge, and plan and coordinate City-wide assignments by ensuring technical accuracy and adequacy.

Reporting to Senior Project Engineer – Environmental Assessments, assists Senior Project Engineer on a variety of engineering assignments related to or in association with capital engineering including leading the City’s technical staff in environmental assessments.

Reporting to the Manager, Construction, supervise and lead the Survey Section, in the Capital Works Division.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Surveys, conducts engineering surveys and records all data; operates numerous types of survey equipment.
