Reporting to the Manager of Stormwater, the Senior Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing the design and construction phases of the West Thornhill flood remediation program and other capital projects. The incumbent will also be responsible for the review of studies dealing with rehabilitation of underground infrastructure, natural watercourses, and Class Environmental Assessment related to stormwater management, water resources and other environmental issues.

The City of North Bay is seeking applications for the position of Manager, Asset Management Planning. Reporting to the Managing Director, Engineering, Environmental Services & Works, the Manager will lead the development and implementation of the City’s Asset Management Plan. The Manager works closely with City Departments to deliver projects focused on improving the management of the City’s infrastructure and service level requirements. The Manager will also facilitate the establishment and continuous improvement of the City’s asset management and decision making processes.
The successful candidate will use their project management skills to establish and implement the Asset Management Plan meeting both internal and legislated requirements, improved stewardship, accountability, enhanced risk management and financial responsibilities. They will provide strategic direction and develop/establish/implement standard processes for collecting, updating, maintaining and managing the asset infrastructure information, condition inspection and mapping.

Responsible for leading the City’s Backflow Prevention Program including the implementation and ongoing administration of the program, provide guidance on the installation/retrofitting on new and existing industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) and high-risk sites, and develop and update the backflow prevention by-law and associated forms. Reviews engineering drawings, site servicing plans and inspections, various reports as well as managing the backflow prevention database to ensure compliance with the City’s backflow prevention program. The Backflow Prevention Coordinator will engage ICI properties, businesses and high-risk sites, as well as promote public awareness about the backflow prevention program. Responsible to engage in regular surveillance with respect to compliance with the program and recommend measures to by-law enforcement and various stakeholders to ensure continual improvement.
