Responsible for the management of the Transportation Engineering Section of the Development Engineering Department. Leads and manages the review of development applications from a transportation perspective with consideration for the objectives of the City’s official plans, standards and good engineering practices; initiating, developing and managing the transportation programs and specialized studies, policies and issues; maintaining project schedules and coordinating the work of staff and external consultants. Formulates reports, implementation policies and coordinates studies as required. Manages consultant, financial and human resource needs. -

Reporting to a Project Manager, the Senior Design Technician is responsible for the functional design, co-ordination, detailed design and the preparation of contract drawings of various municipal Capital Works projects, including roads, storm sewers, sidewalks, intersections, multi-use pathways, streetscape, parking lots, etc.
