MEA and OMAA Agree to Work Together

The MEA and the Ontario Municipal Administrators Association (OMAA) recently executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) formally recognizing opportunities for collaboration on policy development, advocacy, service sharing, and related idea exchanges, with a goal of developing a mutually beneficial working arrangement that serves to advance the interests of the municipal sector on matters that are within the purview of MEA’s membership, including:

• Informed consultation that is informed by the diversity of municipal governments benefits municipalities and Ontario.
• Enhanced information sharing between the two associations.
• Exploring the potential for joint educational events, service delivery, and/or cross promotion.

The OMAA was formed in 1958 for Chief Administrative Officers to assist in the promotion of better local government. OMAA provides professional development, advocacy, networking opportunities, services, and additional support for Ontario CAOs and Aspiring CAOs.

The MEA Board of Directors looks forward to this working relationship with OMAA.
