Information Sessions on DFO Legislation and Conducting Projects Near Water

Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Partnerships team from Ontario & Prairie and Arctic regions is advising it will be providing Information Sessions on DFO Legislation and Conducting Projects Near Water.  This outreach session is intended for persons who plan to work near and in water and are looking for introductory information on the regulatory review process within DFO. 

Four sessions are planned throughout the 2023 year.  The same presentation will be delivered at each session and will provide a background on DFO’s Aquatic Ecosystem sector’s organization set up within the regions, and an overview of key legislation, overview of Projects Near Water Website, and a walk through of the Request for Review form.  We anticipate each session to have a 60 minute presentation by DFO, followed by ~30 minute question and answer period. 

Dates for the sessions are noted below:

Session 1 – January 24, 2023 @ 11:00 – 12:30 CST
Session 2 – May 16, 2023 @11:00 – 12:30 CST
Session 3 – September 19, 2023 @11:00 – 12:30 CST
Session 4 – November 21, 2023 @ 11:00-12:30 CST
